Emma Willis debuts lingerie collection with Next

This September Emma Willis releases her latest collection with Next: a covetable Autumn/Winter wardrobe full of timeless tailoring and cosy knitwear, and for the first time also including several pieces of beautifully thought-out lingerie to complement the new nightwear. Pursuing comfort in gorgeous style, with versatility fast becoming a hallmark of Emma’s work, several of the lingerie pieces are also designed to work for the “underwear as outerwear” trend, to be styled up or down.

Emma acknowledges a common challenge of creating underwear: balancing comfort and style. She and the team at Next have produced subtly feminine bra-and-brief sets in soft yet elegant fabrics. The result is a collection sublimely comfortable whilst also looking sleek and stylish, with a nod towards the changes in Emma’s preferences at different stages of her life. “Since having children I’ve stopped wearing underwired styles, so the pieces we’ve designed are all soft cupped.”

In true Emma fashion the whole collection, including the lingerie, is much more about truly wearable style than unrealistic aesthetics. Flattering tailoring in a jewel palette, soft knitwear in neutral tones and statement coats in sizes 6-22 offer something for every body type, and Emma is particularly excited about this season’s nightwear as she prepares for the colder months.

“In the winter it’s all I want to be in… I just want to go home, when it’s dark at 5 o’clock and get some cosy pyjamas on!” Short and full-length sets are created in a soft, night-sky fabric, with choices of a matching or classic black bedroom robe – perfect for wrapping up at home as the nights draw in.

Swedish sleepwear brand Dagsmejan unveils its latest collection, launched to complement their iconic range of thermo-regulating sleepwear. The highly anticipated ‘Relaxwear’ range comprises items including a super-soft cardigan, blanket scarf, zip-up tops and hoodies. All products feature the very finest merino wool, combining breathability with cozy warmth for the ultimate in relaxation.

Created by taking insights from high performance sportswear and adapting them to our body’s physiological sleep needs, the Relaxwear range was created alongside leading partners from sleep research and textile engineering. Furthermore, the new collection offers unique benefits to optimise your bedtime routine, preparing minds and bodies for sleep:

  • Temperature control – The natural structure of merino wool creates insulating air pockets, trapping more air than any other fibre and thus building a defence against the cold. The breathable knit promises to keep you comfortably warm without overheating;
  • Supreme fit and comfort – Designed to help you unwind for a better night’s sleep, the softest merino wool and the tag-less ergonomic designs offer supreme comfort for immediate relaxation;
  • Moisture management – The natural fibres promise to keep you warm, dry and comfortable. The merino wool fibres evaporate the moisture vapours outside the garment, keeping you cool, and if it’s cold the moisture vapours condense inside the fibre, giving off heat to keep you comfortably warm.

Simone Pérèle AW20 – Cassiopée

Simone Pérèle makes a statement this Autumn/Winter 2020 with the ‘nouvelles héroines’ campaign, which pays tribute to today’s touching and charismatic women. Inspired by twinkling stars, the Hypnose Céleste collection embodies a new femininity as Simone Pérèle welcomes Maud Friocourt as Art Director.

Mathieu Grodner, Managing Director, asserts that “Maud truly understands the brand and the delicate balance between modernity and history. She came with her expertise and gave a modern touch, a coherence to the brand with her lingerie and swimwear collections. Her personality and passion give us a brand new perspective: great precision, a critical eye, detail and sense of fashion, with a Simone Pérèle twist.”

Shot by the fashion photographer Jan Welters, the images embody the new direction the collections have been taking and the brand’s strong will to reinvent itself. “I’ve always loved Jan’s work, he has the ability to find the perfect balance between glamor and touching when he photographs women,” said Maud.

“It’s exactly what we wanted for the brand: modernity but also and most importantly authenticity and meaning. Simone Pérèle is a legendary brand that deserves more than a pretty brand image, we want to create emotion to lean into a vision. Jan immediately accepted the ‘nouvelles héroines’ challenge. We wanted to see all of it: their weaknesses and their strengths, their flaws, their beauty and their paradoxes. His unique use of black and white gives a depth to his natural portraits that suggest strength and sensitivity.”

Discover Orphée, a name that speaks for itself… Orphée revisits a vintage style with its sophisticated style and exalted silhouette, inspired by a historical piece, ‘Poivre’, designed by Simone Pérèle herself in 1970. Swiss embroideries with touches of satin, a precious theme and exquisite details for a retro chic look. Asta, a new graphic lace, inspired by the 1970s is underlined by an ethereal elastic band for a simple and modern look. Cométe is the brand’s new delicate and discrete asset. Subtle like a constellation, this lace is quite versatile as it can be highly fashionable with its full lace body, or invisible with its stitch-free moulded bra.

Cassiopée is an intertwining of delicacy, transparency and audacity. Maud Friocourt explains: “We wanted a creative spark, innovation, something that would catch the eye, very chic. We were inspired by a high fashion embroidery. The navy blue and the black work well together giving it a delicate modernity.” True fashion must-haves, the body and triangle bra are the two favorites of this collection. Last but not least, rediscover the delicate silk and the timeless cut of Dream and Nocturne in Victoria pink for a vintage feel, while Satin Secrets merges nocturnal seduction and daily elegance with pieces that can also be worn as regular clothing.

Mey Spring/Summer 2021

The Mey Spring/Summer 2021 collection oozes pure joie de vivre in its colour palette and designs with an exotic feel. The global lockdowns have made people more aware of the impact of our actions on the environment and there is a real movement towards the sustainable use of resources and environmentally friendly production processes. Many fabrics used in the daywear and nightwear ranges have come straight from the Mey knitting mill in the Swabian Alb and a lot of work goes into ensuring that as little ground as possible is covered when creating products.

A deep longing for natural, earthy tones continues to be a major trend, and these shades are combined with fresh colours like lime, raspberry and all kinds of tones of blue that reflect the unique hue of the ocean. Neutral tones such as white, Champagne, new pearl and secco add a touch of light, while shades inspired by make-up are also at the heart of the collection.

The luxurious and sophisticated Lovestory loungewear segment is once again the star of the collection alongside the Poetry and Colette haute couture lingerie segment. Statement floral prints wow in fresh, bright shades and an abstract watercolour style, and the digital printing technology allows the colours to really pop on luxurious modal in the jersey segment and on silk/viscose in the weaved fabric segment.

The Night2Day smart casual loungewear segment inspires exotic dreams that will make you long for holidays to far-flung destinations, while the ‘Sweet Dreams’ segment adds a small yet chic capsule collection with mix & match nightwear, and the new Zzzleepwear range features a special ceramic print on the inside that has been proven to help you get a relaxing and rejuvenating night’s sleep. The plated fabric has COOLMAX® fibres on the inside to help regulate your body temperature and a thin layer of cotton on the outside to give it a natural feel, and the range also includes a sleep-inducing podcast which can be accessed with a Spotify code.

The Curve segment has been integrated into the main collection as part of the Pure segment, offering sizes from 44 to 54. “The handwriting of the two segments was very similar – pure, feminine and uncomplicated.
