Luxury lifestyle label Meng presents the ‘Butterfly Lovers’ loungewear collection inspired by the ancient Chinese folktale of Liang Zhu. In the story, lovers Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai are separated, die and become a pair of butterflies so they can be together forever. One of China’s Four Great Folktales, this tale of true love inspired one of the most famous Chinese musical pieces, the Yang Zhu violin concerto, and was now translated into prints by Meng.
The joyous, magical colours of the designs reflect the freedom and happiness of eternal lovers, while flowers in full bloom set the scene for extraordinary butterflies subtly blending into the fantastical décor. In shades of zesty oranges, dusty pinks and pastel blues, the Butterfly Lovers line offers a new take on summer loungewear.
